Croom Macra

The Limerick Macra Capers did their County proud last Saturday night in the National Semi Finals. Their show ‘The X Factors’ went down a storm. Even with the heavy rain beating down outside, the audience laughed and thoroughly enjoying the dancing, singing and comedy that the talented Limerick group displayed. No Limerick group has entered this competition in 10 years and these young Macra members took on the challenge and indeed many have found themselves at home on stage. Unfortunately the group wouldn’t be going forward to the National Finals. They still came away with one trophy. The prize of Best Female Performance went to Lisa Cahill for her comedy sketch of ‘A Diary of a Macra Queen’. The Limerick group competed against three other Cork group, but the cheers of support and roars of encouragement, they received as the curtains were open was the loudest. Our supporters, many travelling two hours to Ovens, Co. Cork travelled in huge numbers. These loyal followers, families and friends must be commended and the Capers group are extremely grateful. Thank you to everyone who helped the group. Especially Tadhg McKerring and the Cuddy Family for the use of their facilities, to our sound technician Seamus O Connell and everyone else who supported us.
