Macra na Feirme last week, presented the Department of Agriculture Fishers and Food with a report documenting the cases of hundreds of young farmers adversely affected by the suspension of Young Farmer Installation Aid (YFIS) and Early Retirement Scheme (ERS). Macra na Feirme’s national president was joined by the president of the IFA Mr Padraig Walshe. Following on from Macra’s recent national protest meetings and marches, a petition was created to allow young farmers affected by the suspension of both schemes to record their case with Macra. Macra na Feirme national president Catherine Buckley, speaking on behalf of all young famers is asking the government to reverse the decision to suspend both schemes effective immediately. Ms Buckley is calling on the government to listen to their voting public and respect the livelihoods of the rural community.

The results of the survey are confidential and it takes approximately 2 minutes to complete.  The survey can be found on Macra’s homepage www.macra.ie and we would encourage all members who are insured to drive to fill out the form and help Macra tailor a package to suit you.
