Banogue is a great historic Parish.  It is one of the smallest parishes in the county and great credit is due to those parishioners who intend to take up the pen and document the historic events of the happenings of the Maigueside parish.  The old parish took in Ballybanogue, Croom, Dullas in the nineteenth century.  Famous names came from the parish and the parish had two former County Chairmen and county Secretaries of the GAA County Board the late Jackie O’Connell and the late Jimmy Hickey.
