Easter Ceremonies

Holy week ceremonies commenced on Holy Thursday in St, Mary’s Church Croom and Sts Peter and Paul’s Church Banogue. Good Friday, the celebration of our Lord’s passion and Death on the cross took place at 3pm in Croom and 7.30pm in Banogue. Holy Saturday Easter vigil St. Mary’s church Croom at 7.30. This was concelebrated by Father Eamonn O’Brien CC, Father Joe Kennedy P.P and Father David O’Regan native of Anhid and home from the Westminster diocese. This was father David’s first occasion in fifty years to participate in Holy week ceremonies in his native parish. The blessing of the Easter water and the lighting of the paschal candle also took place.
