The Maigue

Carrigeen Round Tower Currently been re-developed

The Round Tower at Carrigeen is a major attraction as not too  many are in existence in Ireland .The views that can seen from Croom ,Tory Hill and it’s lake district ,The Hill of Knockfierna on the West side of the Town, it is known as the hill of the truth, in olden times it is where the people got their weather forecast from. The Maigueside poets who resided in Croom and Sean O Tuama of the Maigueside poets is buried in the old graveyard.
