Tragedy struck the Parish of Banogue early on Friday morning when a commercial vehicle Cuisine de France the vehicle driven by a non-national on his way from Cork to Limerick left the road at the old Creamery Banogue. The vehicle was so emerged in the old Mill Store and sadly the driver met his death. People in the locality heard the loud bang and sometime later motorists travelling the main Limerick road noticed the vehicle badly submerged in the old Creamery. The Mid Western Ambulance was quickly on the scene. The body was removed to Limerick Regional Hospital. Fr. Joe Kennedy was called to administer the Last Rites. The people of Banogue Parish were somewhat saddened to hear the death of the young worker from Foreign lands coming to his death in the parish. Prayers were said at all churches in Banogue and Croom last week end.
