“On Wings” is a new song which has penned by Jamie Bridgeman from Limerick as a tribute to his cousins Leanne Miller and Roby O ‘Riordan who died in a road accident on July 15 2006 http://www.limerickleader.ie/news/Limerick39s-Leanne-to-put-road.4154871.jp .The song is been sang by Leanne Moore  Your a Star Winner 2008.It is hoped that the single and video will highlight and bring home the dangers associated with speeding.

This morning Jamie Bridgeman,Leanne Moore and Sgt.Brian Downey Gardai Siochana appeared on Ireland Am interviewed by Mark Cagney .Sgt.Brian Downey remarked that 338 people had been killed on the roads in Ireland in 2007 ,129 of these were aged between 16 and 30 .It is hoped that the message of song which has the backing of http://www.garda.ie/roadsafetyCD.html will create awareness in particular for the 16 to 30 age bracket.

Football: Limerick exploits in the League Div.3 this season have been well written about, it turned out that the Shannonsiders just avoided relegation in defeating Letrim in their final game.A loss to Cork in the Munster Semi Final a travesty ! .The rest  of the teams in Div 3 are having an amazing run of form ,yesterday in Croke Park saw Wexford reach their first Leinster Final with a Semi -Final win over Laois their first since 1956.On Saturday evening Fermanagh defeated the Football League Div 1 Champions Derry of 2008(Derry defeated Kerry in the final) to reach the Ulster Final,Down also in Limerick’s group play Armagh in the Ulster Semi Final next weekend so DIv 3 has turned out to have been a very competitive League.
