Two Last Minute Goals Deny Limerick ,Cork and Kerry to meet in the Munster Football Final

Posted by croom on June 15, 2008

Limerick 0-12 Cork 2-9 Munster Senior Football Championship Semi -Final

John Galvin(Croom /Limerick),Stephen Lavin(Adare /Limerick) and Ger Spillane (Ballygarvan/Cork)

Limerick were denied a deserved Munster Final appearance with two goals scored by Cork in the last minute of the game,Limerick were leading by three points and history was in the making so it seemed.Limerick were excellent from start to finish in this match and one has to question this now  ridiculous  seeding system which is back in Munster an how it can help the future of our national game.Limerick trailed at half time by one point. In the second half Sean Buckley recieved his marching orders for a second bookable offence, later to be followed by Donnacha O’Connor for Cork.Limerick were outstanding John Galvin in midfield and Ian Ryan in the forwards,it’s the qualifiers now for Limerick. The old order returns another Cork v Kerry final.
